Gary Hallett

CEO

Gary has found success in both the corporate world and the world of small business. His experience has ranged from owning, operating (and eventually selling) his own small business to executive leadership in large corporations.

A decade of sales and marketing management with a global franchisor across multiple North American markets was followed by nearly 10 years as a franchisee within that same system. During that time, he sat on National advisory boards for some of the industry’s largest and fastest-growing companies.

A degree in accounting, combined with operational field experience and executive leadership in the boardroom, have positioned him well to serve the needs of our clients.

Financial statements review, business valuation, corporate strategy, and business development services are all a part of his repertoire for clients who are either buying or selling a business. He obtained his Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation from the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) in 2013 after becoming a Business Broker in 2009. He’s also an avid runner, having completed over a dozen marathons.

NANCY HALLETT

Valuation Specialist

Nancy Hallett has been a small business owner, founded a small private investment group, and worked closely with the principals of a large family-owned private business. Though Nancy’s educational background is in accounting, her career has additionally focused on administration and operations. She is a fact-based problem solver who understands quickly when something is amiss.

She has worked on mergers and acquisitions transactions with a Fortune 100 company, helping to lead that company through integration efforts in both finance and operations. She manages customer relations, business valuations, and marketing to buyers, and she also keeps everyone at Gateway on task.

Her passion for business is rivaled only by her love of the outdoors. An avid surfer and runner, she brings energy, focus, and clarity to the team and her projects.

Mike McCann

Senior Business Advisor

Mike McCann is a Senior Business Advisor with Gateway Business Brokers, where he helps business owners understand the value of what they’ve built and confidently navigate the process of selling their business. As a former business owner himself, Mike brings firsthand experience, practical insight, and a genuine passion for helping others achieve successful outcomes. He believes that clear thinking, honest communication, and genuine care create the foundation for successful partnerships. His goal is simple: to provide meaningful value, earn confidence, and help clients move forward with clarity.

A Jacksonville Beach native, Mike earned both his B.A. and MBA from Charleston Southern University, where he attended on a full football scholarship, served as team captain, and helped lead the school’s first conference championship team. He later published BelieveEG21, chronicling the team’s championship season and the perseverance behind it.

Before joining Gateway, Mike founded and operated JaxCo Furniture for eight years, growing the business while building a reputation for exceptional customer service and giving back to the community through the donation of more than 300 beds to local families and veterans.

Mike’s faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of his life. He and his wife, Hannah, are raising their three children with the hope that they will know and follow the Lord - the truest measure of success in his eyes.

His industry experience includes professional service businesses, healthcare, manufacturing, industrial and home service companies. Cal is a Civil Engineer and he has an MBA from the University of Illinois. He is a member of the Business Brokers of Florida, the International Business Brokers of Florida and holds the prestigious Certified M&A Professional designation from Kennesaw State University Coles School of Business.
